Ready for Thanksgiving/

Russiagate means war!

“A friend told me yesterday that he hadn’t seen an antiwar protest in America in ten years. It was a sincere comment; he genuinely hadn’t seen any coverage on any peace activism in his country during that time. And of course he hadn’t; it is mainstream media’s job to distort public narratives in favor of the war-hungry plutocratic class which owns the media outlets. But I’ve actually been noticing a lot of antiwar activism lately which, while often far from the spotlight of mass media attention, has given me much hope for the future.

It is true there was a noticeable lull in vocal demonstrations against military violence since George W Bush left office, largely due to mainstream US partisan dynamics. Mainstream liberals supported Obama, so they avoided bringing attention to his continuation of Bush’s policies of mass murder, while mainstream conservatives ignored the Obama administration’s violence since they focused on attacking him as a weakling and a terrorist sympathizer, and of course had no ground to stand on for any criticisms of warmongering after supporting eight years of Bush. Some antiwar activism did happen in the US during that time, but not much.

And, bizarrely, we’ve seen a mutation of this trend continue well into the Trump administration, with mainstream liberals herded into holding demonstrations in support of the empty Russiagate conspiracy theory. The mass media-endorsed collusion narrative has fed into an anti-Russia hysteria among Democratic Party loyalists that has been used to manufacture support for dangerous cold war escalations and an obscenely bloated military budget, while any objection to Trump’s warmongering and advancement of longstanding neoconservative agendas has been intentionally lost in the shuffle.”

I love these!

The one and only Iman!

Reading between the lines of our “news” media

I’ve seen several friends posting this article. It’s an interesting story but it’s not what it seems.

This dutch guy claims he wants to change his age because he identifies as 20 years younger than he is. It’s easy to dismiss this guy as a pompous fool with a bizarre agenda. The Telegraph is a conservative paper, and I think this article is their way of invalidating trans people and others who identify as non-binary, gender queer, zes and zirs, etc (I personally have never met a zir or ze–but whatever.) It is also why conservative media also loves to cover Martina Big, the blond german nut who has turned herself “black” with deep dark tanning and huge lip implants. If these papers can report on (or possibly create) train wrecks who make most of us shake our heads with bewilderment, they are simultaneously casting aspersions on trans people whose transition IS real valid. And they would rather cover nut jobs than well-adjusted trans people. I would love to hear the thoughts of some trans friends about this, cuz it’s just my theory.

I didn’t think I could love Jill Scott any more!

Last night at The Monster!

Pitiful post-midterm coverage.

The way our “left” media works: Ignore the most popular politician in the country for years, Sanders, in favor of someone who says f#cking on TV when he lost in Texas. This article claims that it’s a good thing that Beto has little voting record, which would indicate how he would vote in the future in any office.

But “Don’t overthink it” with boring details about how he might vote now contrasted with his past votes. Oh, and Beto has “charisma.” That’s what Trump supporters think Trump has while he turns the country upside down. Obama had tons of charisma, too. But he never delivered much of the hope or change he campaigned on. Hitler was said to have had charisma, too. But as Slate says: “Don’t overthink it.”

Bye, Miss Sessions!

And this from a millennial!

While all of the talk about old people shouldn’t run, don’t ignore that Bernie’s progressive ideas appealed to youth and drew them into the campaign. Often for the first time! And they contributed!

I saw A Star Is Born. So depressing! But if being mentored and kissing on an old alcoholic man who’s dying is what it takes to get ahead in show biz………………then I guess I’m calling up Bianca Del Rio.

A big headline from the midterms’ exit polls

The Rachel Maddows, Lawrence O’Donnells and Joy Reids who’ve made Mueller’s probe their main story since Trump was elected are out of touch with Democrats who won last night on healthcare. Russiagate is a losing issue for voters which has not born significant fruit in almost 3 years. People care about bread and butter issues and Dem politicians who ran got this. Last night water was a bigger issue than Mueller. But will our news media of the left get it before voters tune them out? How about this approach: report on Mueller when there is something conclusive to report? Not full hours of Russia coverage in which Rachel and her ilk could barely tear herself away from her intricate legal fantasies to cover a damn hurricane. Otherwise, they’re wasting our time on their elite agenda while ignoring issues which do actually matter to Dems and Independents.

MSNBC: Exit polls show that people aren’t interested in Mueller investigation, they want to live better lives.

ABC: 54 percent thought the Russia investigation was politically motivated.

CNN: Slightly over half of voters in the 2018 election said that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election is politically motivated, according to preliminary results from CNN’s national exit poll.

NBC: According to NBC News Exit Poll results, 42 percent of voters nationwide approve Mueller’s handling of the investigation, while 45 percent disapprove.

The Hill: Poll: Two-thirds want Mueller to end Russia probe before midterms.

Politico: Mueller is everywhere, except the midterms
Campaign ads and debates are mostly avoiding the Russia investigation in favor of other issues important to voters.

Special counsel Robert Mueller can’t escape the headlines, or President Donald Trump’s obsessive Twitter feed. But there’s one place the lead Russia investigator has been noticeably absent: the 2018 campaign trail.

Mueller and his inquiry are missing from the campaign advertising airwaves in the final sprint to November. Debates have all but ignored the story, focusing instead on kitchen-table topics like the economy, health care and taxes.

That’s on purpose, candidates and operatives from both parties told POLITICO. Most Americans are barely following the Mueller investigation’s intricate legal movements, which have already ensnared a few top former Trump aides, alleged Kremlin-backed hackers and a cast of characters scattered across both sides of the Atlantic.

Most important, voters don’t want to talk about it either.

I voted…and then..

I hope someone dubbed these awful voices over an enemy!

Voting day blues

I was given a ballot and filled it out. But when I went to scan it, my ballot was rejected by the scanner saying I’d overvoted–ie chosen too many candidates. So I had to grab another one and my area’s table told me to fill the out the ballot straight down. This is nonsense advice, because that means you have to vote straight ticket down one column. And if you favor progressives, Cuomo, Gillibrand and other Dems are listed in both the Democrats and as Working Families parties categories in different columns. Voting for them in the Working Families party signals to these politicians that this voter would like to see them act more like progressives.

So my ballot was rejected again for selecting too many candidates and they told me I could only have one more try. Three’s the limit. the third one was rejected because of the bad advice given to me by the table of my district. Then I was told I needed to fill out a ballot and an affidavit by a helpful lady who rolled her eyes and said she would never design such a confusing ballot. Should this happen to you, you’ll need the last 4 numbers of your Social Security # or a state driver’s license or state non-driver’s license ID. With this much confusion, I’d just bring your ID anyway in case some glitch has you not registered and you need to prove your address.

There are also 3 proposals on the back which I don’t think most are familiar with. So you might want to check those out in advance so you’ll know how you want to vote on them.

Don’t tell PETA I posted this!

Good one!
