I don't understand how you can applaud Ellen for speaking out against hompohobic hate crimes and the derogatory "humor" that teaches children to hate and hurt us, yet spread that awful daddy long legs joke via your website. It's exactly the kind of homophobic "humor" that Ellen is calling attention to. That any queer person would find this funny is a measure of how desensitized we've become to the violence against us.
A little girl has learned that two males mating is so disgusting that she feels entitled to violently end their lives. It doesn't matter that they're spiders, they represent gay men. Imagine this violent, hateful excuse for humor being told and laughed at by dumb jocks in the lockerroom while a gay boy's heart aches in silent agony.
Some jokes stop being funny when you actually stop to think about the cruelty behind them. Kill gay spiders, kill gay kids, the message is the same. Please honor Larry's memory and consider removing that hateful homophobic joke from your blog before it spreads any farther.
